See How Lykke Li Impeccably Coordinated Her Outfit to Her Car

Lykke Li Takes the Car Selfie to the Next Level

Practically since the birth of the selfie itself (if you believe Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are the self-portrait’s founders, per Hilton’s claim, then this happened on November 19, 2006), there’s been an almost endless supply of photographs of people in or on top of their cars. For some, it’s a way to flex—Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir are both fans of this ingenious method of showing off your outfit and your shiny whip at the same time. For others, it’s just one of the few ways to pass the time when you’re confined to the passenger seat on a ride somewhere.

For Lykke Li, though, a car portrait is a moment for some serious coordination. The Los Angeles-based, Sweden-born pop singer-songwriter sat in the black leather front seat of an old red convertible in a red vinyl jacket, silky black short-shorts, and black leather over-the-knee boots. Is it a coincidence that the sleek fabric of her boots and jacket, and even the colors themselves, perfectly matched the car’s interior and exterior? At least one thing is certain: Li knows a good photo-op when she sees one.
