The past few months have seen a bevy of celebrity brides walk down the aisle. In September, Gwyneth Paltrow married Brad Falchuk in the Hamptons. In October, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank wed in St. George’s Chapel, marking the year’s second royal wedding, broadcast for the world to see, while Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner exchanged vows in front of only 80 guests in upstate New York. And in December, there were two more high profile weddings—Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s expertly planned, multi-day occasion, and Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s off-the-cuff ceremony at home—to take in.

And while each bride did it her way on the big day, there were white gowns, tiaras, blowouts, henna adorned hands, and cowboy hats aplenty, they seem to have taken up the same pre-and post-wedding beauty staple: the buffed and bare manicure.

In the days surrounding each wedding, the women stepped out with either nude or nothing nails to serve as a simple backdrop to their new (and not-so-simple) diamond rings. It’s a surprisingly unfussy style, especially given the fanfare around the occasions. And, sure, while some sparklers simply need no assistance, above all the nude manicure serves as a clean and practical, get-down-to-business beauty move. After all, these brides are also moguls and megawatt stars in their own right. And we can’t wait to see what they do next.
